WebCT Archived Course Retrieval Tool

Nostalgic for WebCT? Read the History of WebCT at Georgia Tech

Welcome!

If you are looking for current Georgia Tech courses, they are on T-Square.
Fall semester 2007 was the last semester that WebCT was available for general campus use. On May 1st, 2009, the WebCT server was officially decommissioned, but archives were kept of all courses* that existed in WebCT since fall semester 2003. This tool will allow anyone who was the designer for any WebCT courses* to download the archives of those courses. While these archives are most useful for retrieving old content files (e.g. PDFs, Word DOCs, JPEGs, etc.), it is possible to retrieve grades, though a special script must be used to convert the WebCT internal data into a readable CSV style spreadsheet file.

Full instructions for utilizing the archives are given within. Please note that access to these archives is provided as a courtesy to the Georgia Tech faculty, and given that WebCT has been out-of-production for well over a year, there is very little support available for assisting anyone with the use of this system or the archive files provided within.

Please be aware that we do not provide any WebCT course access for students! If you were a student in a WebCT course and are looking to retrieve documents you submitted, your only option is to contact the instructor for the course and ask him/her to retrieve those files for you. If you have a grade dispute issue, you should have the Dean of Students office contact OIT to request any supporting documentation that might have been housed in a WebCT course.

* - Please be aware that you may not find every single WebCT worksite that you ever owned in these archives. Many test and training worksites were not included, and while we tried our best to include all known official course archives from the fall 2003 through fall 2007 timeframe, it is entirely possible that some courses may be missing from the archives for any number of reasons. If you cannot find the course that you need, you can open an OIT Service Request to inquire about your course, but we cannot make any guarantee that we'll be able to help you. If you do open a request, please provide as much detail as possible, including the course title, term, the course ID (e.g. CS-1501-A), and the banner CRN.
